The Charity Promoting Golf For All Disabilities. BALASA (British Amputee & Les Autres Sports Association) is a registered charity (Charity No:1051180) which was formed in 1988. The objective of the charity is to promote the benefits and feasibility of taking up golf and the enjoyment and satisfaction that can be gained from it.
We do this through the following activities:- • Encouraging individuals of all disabilities to begin playing the game • Where appropriate, arranging coaching and/or placing players in contact with specialist coaching professionals • Rehabilitation of golfers back to golf after suffering a disabling accident • Organising and running golf tournaments for disabled golfers.
BALASA collaborates with some of sport’s biggest governing bodies including English Federation of Disability Sport, British Paralympic Association, R&A, England Golf and European Disabled Golf Association.
This year, monies raised have focused on building our new website and has helped to fund our very own BALASA Disabled Open Golf Championships which took place at Belton Woods, Lincolnshire in May 2014 – see News. We would like to increase the number of events we run, but require funds to achieve this. Please help BALASA promote this game for disabled golfers all over the UK.
